Serve

Serve at Christ Lutheran

Serving others is one of the greatest blessings God offers us. And as the Body of Christ we all have valuable gifts He has given us to offer as we serve. These acts of service allow us to bring glory to God, shine his light in this world and open doors to connect people to Jesus! Whether you are looking to serve here at Christ Lutheran on weekends, in our local community or around the world, there are many opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

See some of the many ways below you can get plugged in to serving opportunities. Contact the church office at 949-631-1611 to learn more.

Serve During Weekends

It takes a lot of gifted people to make meaningful weekend experiences at Christ Lutheran – people like you! Here are some of the many ways you can serve in worship and on-campus:

  • First Impressions Teams: Ushers, Greeters, Guest Center Host, Fellowship Hosts
  • Music: Sanctuary Choir, Praise Band, Handbells, Festival Worship Orchestra
  • Production: Audio/Video Engineering, Lighting, Screen Operations, Graphics, Administrative

Serve During The Week

Being the church doesn’t end after worship on Sundays – we are called to be actively engaged in serving the Lord, each other and our neighbors every day. Here are some ways this happens here:

  • Care Ministry: Shut-in/Hospital Visitation
  • Health and Wellness
  • Hospitality: Events, senior luncheons, funeral receptions
  • Teaching: Bible studies, small group leadership
  • Children / Youth Ministry: 5th/6th grade, Junior High, High School, Young Adults
  • Women’s Ministries
  • Christ Lutheran School: preschool, K-8

Serve Our Local Community

Beyond the personal witnessing we are called to do with those we encounter every day, we engage in many serving and witnessing activities alongside partnerships in our city of Costa Mesa and elsewhere in our region.

Activities include food distribution to the needy, serving in local elementary schools, caring for the homeless, and building homes with Habitat for Humanity. Check out our Local Missions page for more information.

Serve Globally

While we are blessed to serve hundreds of nationalities that make Southern California home, global mission opportunities provide significant blessings for those we serve as well as those who serve. As we get to serve our global neighbor’s physical needs, we get to connect people to Jesus who may have never heard His name, and encourage those who already follow Him.

Global mission opportunities include serving from our home base and short-term trips around the globe. Missions include a variety of activities including health education and improvement, clean water projects, literacy education and much more in addition to Gospel proclamation. We serve Papua New Guinea, Honduras, China, India, and Liberia. Visit our Global Missions page to learn more.
